Ms. Odell has over 5 years of experience in wildlife biology and management, including CEQA documentation and consultation. The majority of her research and professional experience has taken place in Central Valley wetlands, grasslands and agricultural areas, and she is also skilled and familiar with the flora and fauna of the Sierra Nevada, foothills, and the Northern and Central California Coast. She has multi-taxonomic field skills and knowledge, including surveys for game, non-game and special status species. In particular, she has a great deal of experience monitoring and surveying avian species, with a focus on wetlands and their management. Ms. Odell has held positions with multiple agencies such as CA Department of Fish and Game, the National Park Service, and U.S. Geological Survey. Additionally, she has actively coordinated surveys and reports with Federal (Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service), State (Dept. of Water Resources, Dept. of Fish and Game, State Water Quality Control Board), and local agencies (school districts, water districts, cities, counties), as well as private land owners. She has previously been responsible for project management, including staff supervision, project design, coordination, data analysis, and the reporting and presentation of results.
