Mr. Mendelsohn has over ten years of experience in conservation biology and natural resource management. He has extensive experience in birding (terrestrial, shorebird, and marine) within the Pacific Flyway; field surveys (including identification and keying) for plants, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals; track reading and remote-camera operating; live-trap monitoring and handling of herpetofauna and mammalian species; construction monitoring; wetland delineation; and conducting stream surveys including water quality analyses. His experience with project management includes frequent communication with clients, data management and analysis, authoring or contributing to technical reports, peer-reviewed journal articles, biological assessments, and natural environment study reports, proposal writing, public presentations, and budgeting. Clients he has worked with include the Santa Clara Valley Water District, California State Parks, city and county resources and public works departments, as well as private entities. He has also established relationships with the California Department of Fish and Game (from which he holds a Scientific Collecting Permit), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Park Service, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and regional natural history museums. Mr. Mendelsohn is a strong advocate and supporter of interagency collaboration and data sharing, having contributed to several national and international publicly-accessible wildlife databases.
